Pilots Open RRAC Play Thursday Against Texas A&M-Victoria

SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSU Shreveport women's soccer team will kick off Red River Athletic Conference play on Thursday, Sept. 25, when they welcome Texas A&M-Victoria to The Swamp for a 1 p.m. matchup.

The Pilots (1-5) look to regroup after a tough non-conference slate that most recently saw them fall 5-1 to Cumberland University (Tenn.). Despite the early season record, LSUS has had strong contributions from key attackers. Jade Derks, Halee Hernandez, and Lina Regadane have each tallied two goals, with Derks and Hernandez also tied for the team lead in assists with two apiece.

Between the posts, goalkeeper Elena Lopez has anchored the defense, recording 35 saves through six matches, including one shutout.

Texas A&M-Victoria enters the contest at 3-1-2 on the year and comes off a 6-0 victory over Huston-Tillotson University. The Jaguars are led offensively by Ayloni Garcia, who has notched five goals and two assists. In net, Jamie Noriega has earned two wins, one shutout, and collected 17 saves so far this season.
