The LSU Shreveport Intercollegiate Athletics Department Mission Statement:

First and foremost, the mission of the Department of Athletics is to function as a supporting arm to the University by creating and directing our programs with the mindset of supporting our overall mission here at LSU Shreveport. In doing so, the LSUS Department of Athletics seeks to provide an athletic program that inspires academic and athletic excellence assisting staff and student-athletes in the development of the whole person in hopes of helping prepare them for life. As a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), we seek to align our department alongside the Association by participating in their Champions of Character program which provides training to ensure student-athletes know, do and value the right things in all areas of life. The five core values of the program are: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
