Pilots Ready for Clash Against MACU in NAIA National Championship Second Round

SHREVEPORT, LA – The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) men's soccer team is set to continue their postseason journey, taking on No. 9-ranked Mid-America Christian University (MACU) in the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Second Round. The highly anticipated matchup will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 7 p.m. at Dill Soccer Field in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The winner of the contest will move to the final site.

The Pilots enter the tournament with momentum from an outstanding season, having claimed the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Regular Season Championship. LSUS posted a stellar 13-3-5 overall record, going unbeaten in league play with an 11-0-2 mark. While the Pilots narrowly fell to Louisiana Christian University in the RRAC semifinal in a tight 1-0 decision, their focus has remained steadfast on making program history in the national tournament.

Midfielder Jack Thomas shared the team's mindset heading into the game. "The boys are all up for it, and we've been working nonstop for this game all season," said Thomas. "The national tournament was our main vision from the start—now we just have to execute the game plan and make the Final 16 for the first time in program history."

Standing in their way is a formidable MACU squad that has consistently performed at the highest level. The Evangels, who are hosting the NAIA Tournament First and Second Rounds for the third consecutive year, enter the contest with a 14-2-4 record, including an undefeated 7-0-2 mark in Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) play.

Head coach Adam Kay and the LSUS squad have been preparing meticulously, focusing on their strengths as a unit. With a balanced attack and a resilient defense, the Pilots are eager to test their mettle against one of the nation's top programs.

A win on Saturday would not only mark a significant achievement for the Pilots but also secure their place among the Final 16 teams in the NAIA National Championship for the first time in school history.
