Pierina Lescher Earns NAIA Third Team All-American Honors

SHREVEPORT, La. | May 28, 2025 — LSU Shreveport women's tennis standout Pierina Lescher has been named to the NAIA Third Team All-American, the national office announced today. Lescher becomes the first tennis player in LSUS program history to receive All-American recognition, capping off a historic and dominant 2025 campaign.

A native of Maracaibo, Venezuela, Lescher served as the backbone of the Pilots' lineup from the No. 1 singles position, where she posted an outstanding 11-2 record on the season. Her consistency, composure, and unwavering competitive drive were critical to LSUS's success on the court throughout the year.

Lescher was named the 2025 Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Year and earned a spot on the RRAC All-Conference First Team. In addition to her singles dominance, she also excelled in doubles play alongside partner Daniela Maldonado, as the top duo posted a matching 11-2 record at No. 1 doubles. The tandem was ranked No. 49 nationally in the ITA Doubles Rankings released on March 31.
