The LSU Shreveport women's tennis team delivered a commanding performance on Tuesday, sweeping Texas Wesleyan 7-0 in a dominant victory. The win propelled the team to a perfect 3-0 record for the season, continuing their undefeated start.

The Lady Pilots displayed superior skill and teamwork from the very first point, taking all three doubles matches to secure the opening point. In singles play, they kept the momentum rolling, winning all six matches in straight sets to complete the sweep.

Doubles Highlights:

  • The No. 1 doubles team of Lescher and Maldonaldo showcased their chemistry with an 6-4 victory.
  • At No. 2, Basto and Gomez dominated with an 6-4 win, further solidifying the team's dominance.
  • The No. 3 doubles duo of Tiemersma and Sanchez wrapped up the sweep with a convincing 6-0 victory.

In singles action, the Lady Pilots were equally impressive:

  • Lescher continued her strong play with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.
  • Tiemersma followed suit with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 2.
  • At No. 3, Basto rolled to a 6-3, 7-6 win.
  • Gomez dominated her opponent 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
  • Maldonaldo earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 5.
