Pilots Battle but Fall to No. 7 John Brown on the Road

Siloam Springs, Ark. – LSU Shreveport women's soccer showed grit and determination but came up short in a 4-0 road setback to No. 7 John Brown on Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field.

The Pilots generated chances throughout the match, with Aida Monteserin, Ashlin Fuentes, Martina Bonilla, and Lauren Mercer each recording shots against the nationally ranked Golden Eagles. In goal, Elena Lopez anchored the LSUS defense with nine saves, keeping the Pilots within striking distance against a high-powered JBU attack.

John Brown struck early with goals from Addie Craig (6', 17'), Julie Lambert (8'), and Joy Long (24'), with assists coming from Caitlin Hilson, Katherine Keys, and Audrey Winter.

Despite the result, LSUS continued to push forward and gain valuable experience in the early stretch of non-conference play under first-year head coach Andy Kaplan.

The Pilots will look to bounce back quickly when they travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to face William Carey on Aug. 26 at 5 p.m.
