Pilot Stars Earn Spots on 2024 LSWA All-Louisiana Team

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) women's soccer program has solidified its reputation for excellence, with three standout players earning recognition on the 2024 Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Collegiate Women's Soccer All-Louisiana Team. Dawniella Torres and Diana Godines were named to the prestigious First-Team All-Louisiana, while Juliana Anchondo received an honorable mention.

Junior midfielder Diana Godines, from Houston, Texas, was a vital force throughout the 2024 season, starting all 21 games and driving the Lady Pilots to a 15-5-1 overall record and a dominant 12-1 finish in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC). Godines displayed her offensive brilliance with 16 goals, 5 assists, and 37 points, including an astounding 7 game-winning goals that showcased her ability to rise to the occasion in critical moments.

Senior defender Dawniella Torres, a native of Garland, Texas, brought leadership and versatility to the team. Starting all 21 games, she made significant contributions on both ends of the field, tallying 14 goals, 8 assists, and 36 points, including 2 game-winning goals. Her relentless effort earned her the 2024 RRAC Defensive Player of the Year title and a spot on the All-Conference First Team, solidifying her as one of the best defenders in the region.

Graduate forward Juliana Anchondo, from Nuevo, California, proved to be an offensive powerhouse for LSUS. Anchondo led the team in scoring with 19 goals, 4 assists, and 42 points over 21 starts, including 3 game-winning goals. Her consistent ability to find the back of the net was instrumental in the Lady Pilots' success and further cemented her reputation as a clutch performer.

The Pilots concluded their remarkable 2024 season with an RRAC Regular Season Championship and a hard-fought 2-1 defeat against the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) in the first round of the NAIA National Women's Soccer Tournament.
