LSUS Women’s Soccer Dominates Texas College with 11-0 Victory

TYLER, Texas -- The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) women's soccer team displayed offensive prowess in an 11-0 shutout victory against Texas College on Wednesday afternoon. The win moves the Pilots forward with momentum as they approach their final stretch of the season.

The Pilots set the tone early, with Diana Godines scoring the first goal just one minute into the match off an assist from Taylor Gregory. Godines struck again only two minutes later, once more assisted by Gregory. The early scoring run continued with Juliana Anchondo netting the team's third goal in the 4th minute, assisted by Godines.

Jade Derks joined the scoring effort with a goal in the 15th minute, assisted by Yuvia Vazquez. Vazquez provided her second assist soon after, setting up Anchondo for her second goal of the day in the 19th minute. Diana Leon joined the scoreboard in the 22nd minute, taking advantage of an assist from Vazquez and Torres.

The Pilots resumed their scoring surge quickly in the second half. Godines completed her hat trick just one minute after halftime with an assist from Maja Nikolic. A minute later, Derks added her second goal off an assist from Jillian Rogers. Godines continued her standout performance with another goal in the 57th minute, assisted by Derks, marking her fourth goal of the match. Rogers then scored in the 58th minute, assisted by Gemma White, while Mada Uriarte rounded out the game's scoring with a goal in the 79th minute.

The Pilots dominated the field from start to finish, showcasing both teamwork and individual skill. LSUS will look to keep their momentum rolling as they return to action on Saturday, Nov. 2, when they travel to face Jarvis Christian College for a 1 p.m. matchup.
