LSUS Dominates Paul Quinn College with 11-0 Victory, Extending Win Streak to Five

SHREVEPORT, La. — The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) women's soccer team delivered a commanding performance on Saturday afternoon, defeating Paul Quinn College 11-0 in Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) action. The victory boosts the Pilots' overall record to 12-3 and 9-1 in the RRAC, extending their win streak to five games.

Dawniella Torres wasted no time getting the Pilots on the scoreboard, netting a goal in the 2nd minute off an assist from Juliana Anchondo. Anchondo followed up with a goal of her own in the 13th minute, with an assist from Jade Derks. The Pilots continued their offensive surge with Diana Godines scoring in the 17th minute and Gemma White adding another goal in the 20th minute, assisted by Torres.

Before the half ended, LSUS added two more goals: Giselle Jimenez scored in the 37th minute off another Torres assist, and Torres herself found the back of the net again in the 42nd minute with Derks providing the setup. The Pilots entered halftime with a 6-0 lead.

The second half saw more of the same dominance from LSUS. Godines scored again in the 43rd minute, assisted by Torres, and Torres completed her hat trick with a goal in the 51st minute, once again assisted by Derks. Mada Uriarte contributed two goals in quick succession—scoring in the 67th and 74th minutes—off assists from Jillian Rogers and Diana Leon, respectively. Libby Fraser capped off the scoring with a goal in the 83rd minute, assisted by Jimenez.

The Pilots' defense was strong, allowing just one shot on goal from Paul Quinn's Ashley Montoya. Karina Correa and Isabelle Mapanao split time in goal for LSUS, with neither goalkeeper required to make a save. For Paul Quinn, Fernanda Rosas worked tirelessly in net, finishing the match with 12 saves.

LSUS will look to continue their winning streak when they return to The Swamp on Saturday, October 26, to host Texas A&M University-Texarkana. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
