Anchondo Takes Home First Player of the Week for 2024-25

WACO, Texas – Juliana Anchondo of LSU Shreveport (La.) was recognized as the RRAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 2-8, while Hayli Nichols of the University of Houston-Victoria (Texas) earned her second consecutive RRAC Defensive Player of the Week award for the same dates. This is the third set of conference awards for the 2024 women's soccer season.
Anchondo netted a pair of goals as the Pilots claimed a road victory over No. 25 Benedictine College (Kan.). The graduate forward from Nuevo, Calif., helped LSUS rally with scores in the 47th and 49th minutes. The Pilots are now 2-2 on the season.
Nichols recorded her second consecutive shutout with a 1-0 win over Wayland Baptist University (Texas). The senior goalkeeper from Forney, Texas, made a pair of saves to help the Jaguars improve to 2-0. Through two matches, her 0.00 goals against average is tied for the lead nationally.
