Women's Soccer Adds Another Win to Their Conference Record

Houston, Texas— The Lady Pilots of LSU Shreveport faced off against the Mustangs of North American University Saturday afternoon; the Pilots emerging victorious with a dominant 4-0 win. Shreveport collected their third straight win bringing their overall record to 5-3-2 and their conference record to 3-1-2.
The first half of the match was a fierce battle between the two teams, with both sides showing determination and tenacity. For the initial 30 minutes, the Pilots relentlessly attacked the Mustangs' goal, testing their defense. It was in the 30th minute that the Pilots finally broke through, thanks to the brilliant teamwork of Chelsea Brown and Dawniella Torres. Brown expertly netted a goal, putting the Pilots ahead on the scoreboard.
Wasting no time, they extended their lead, as less than a minute later, Diana Sanchez and Paulina Fierro combined to add a second goal. Diana Sanchez showcased her skills by finding the back of the net, leaving the Mustangs' defense stunned. Throughout the first half, the Pilots dominated possession and outshot the Mustangs 14-0, preventing them from getting anywhere near the Pilots' goal.
As the second half commenced, the Pilots remained determined to solidify their lead. It took only five minutes for Reva Ros to add a third goal, with a quick and precise combination play involving Torres and Olivia Sanchez that set up Ros for the score. In the 68th minute of the match, Fierro added the final nail to the coffin by finding the back of the net herself, securing her place among the goal scorers for the Pilots. The Pilots continued to exert their dominance in the second half, outshooting the Mustangs 9-3, ultimately sealing a resounding 4-0 victory.
The Pilots will be back in action Thursday October 5th as they take on conference rival LSU Alexandria. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm CT from The Swamp in Shreveport, Louisiana.
