Women's Soccer Steals Win from Xavier

New Orleans, Louisiana — The LSU Shreveport women's soccer team emerged victorious over the Xavier Gold Nuggets with a final score of 3-0. With the win the Pilots move to an overall record of 4-3-2 and a conference record of 2-1-2.

The Pilots dominated the first half, taking a 1-0 lead when Paulina Fierro skillfully served Chelsea Brown into the box in the 22nd minute, resulting in a well-executed goal.

At halftime, the Pilots held the lead with a narrow margin, having registered five shots on goal compared to the Gold Nuggets' three. However, they weren't done yet.

In the second half, the Pilots continued their impressive performance. Dawniella Torres played a pivotal role, setting up two more goals for her team. Madison Salas and Olivia Sanchez capitalized on Torres' assists, extending the lead to 3-0.

Once again, the Pilots demonstrated their superiority by outshooting the Gold Nuggets, this time with a tally of 5-3 in their favor. A standout performance was put up by the Pilots' goalkeeper, Carlota Alcalde, who secured a clean sheet by making five crucial saves throughout the match.

The Pilots will be back in action Saturday September 30th as they travel to Stafford, Texas to take on the Mustangs of North American University. Kick off is set for 1:00pm.
