Women's Soccer Breaks Scoreless Streak With A Scoring Spree

Shreveport, Louisiana— In a dominant display of skill and teamwork, the Pilot Women's Soccer team secured a resounding victory over the Rams of Huston Tillotson with a final score of 6-0. The crowd witnessed an impressive offensive showcase by the Pilots and a strong defensive effort that left the Rams struggling to keep up. With the win the Pilots move to an overall record of 3-3-2 and a conference record of 1-1-2.

The Pilots wasted no time making their mark on the game. In the 24th minute, Paulina Fierro sent a precise corner kick into the box, setting up an opportunity for Madison Salas. With great finesse, Salas hammered a bouncing ball into the back of the net, giving the Pilots a 1-0 lead. Their momentum was far from over, as just over a minute later, Chelsea Brown added another goal to the tally. Continuing their relentless attack, Reva Ros made it a 3-0 lead in the 39th minute with a well-executed goal, ending the first half firmly in control, having outshot the Rams 9-3.

As the second half kicked off, the Pilots showed no signs of letting up. Their offensive onslaught continued with a series of well-orchestrated plays. Dawniella Torres found the back of the net in the 56th minute, extending the lead even further. Yuvia Vazquez joined the scoring spree just four minutes later, thanks to a perfectly placed ball across the box by Abbie Rutledge.

Rutledge's contributions didn't stop there. In the 81st minute, she once again played a pivotal role, setting up Chelsea Brown for her second goal of the match. The Pilots outshot the Rams an astonishing 13-1 in the second half alone, highlighting their dominance.

In goal, Carlota Alcalde showcased her talent and composure, finishing the game with three saves and preserving a clean sheet for the Pilots.

The Pilots will be back in action Thursday September 28^th as they take on the Gold Rush of Xavier in a conference match-up. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm CT from New Orleans, Louisiana.
