Women's Soccer Draws with Jags

Shreveport, Louisiana— In a highly competitive soccer matchup, the LSU Shreveport Pilots faced off against the University of Houston Victoria Jaguars, resulting in a hard-fought 0-0 tie. With the win the Pilots move to an overal record of 2-3-2 on the season and 0-1-2 in conference.

Throughout the first half, the Pilots maintained composure and displayed their offensive prowess by outshooting the Jaguars 4 to 3. One of the closest calls of the game came when Abbie Rutledge attempted a header that narrowly missed the goal, ricocheting off the post in a heart-pounding moment.

As halftime approached, both teams remained deadlocked at zero, setting the stage for an intense second half. The Pilots returned to the field with renewed determination, unleashing a total of seven shots towards the Jaguars' goal. However, despite their relentless efforts, the Pilots couldn't find the back of the net, and the game concluded with a 0-0 tie. 

Notably, Carlota Alcalde, the Pilots' goalkeeper, played a crucial role in preserving the clean sheet by making three impressive saves on the three shots on goal from the Jaguars.

The Pilots will be back in action Saturday September 23rd as they take on the Rams of Huston-Tillotson. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm from The Swamp in Shreveport, Louisiana.
