Lady Pilots Draw Against the Jaguars

Shreveport, Louisiana— In a thrilling matchup, the women's soccer team of LSUS faced off against the Texas A&M San Antonio Jaguars, resulting in an exciting tie game. With the tie the Pilots move to an overall record of 2-3-1 while moving to 0-1-1 in conference.

The first half of the game saw the Pilots getting off to a bit of a slow start. They struggled to break through the Jaguars' defense and managed to take just one real shot on goal. On the other side of the field, the Jaguars pressed hard, relentlessly attacking the Pilots' defense and taking six shots of their own. Despite the offensive efforts from both sides, the first half ended with a deadlock, and the score remained 0-0.

The Pilots came out for the second half with renewed determination and a hunger to secure a victory. They quickly shifted the momentum of the game, taking the battle to the Jaguars. LSUS unleashed an offensive onslaught, taking five shots during the second half. Meanwhile, their defense tightened up, allowing the Jaguars only three shots.

As the final whistle blew, the scoreboard still displayed a tie game, with neither team able to break the deadlock. Carlota Alcalde, the Pilot goalkeeper, put up an impressive performance, earning a clean sheet with three crucial saves to keep the Jaguars at bay. Diana Sanchez led the Pilots' offensive charge, recording three shots and playing a crucial role in their second-half resurgence.

The Pilots will be back in action Thursday September 21st as they take on the Jaguars of Houston-Victoria in their conference home opener. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm CT from The Swamp in Shreveport.
