Women's Soccer Sees Second Tie of Conference

Victoria, Texas- The Women's Soccer team now sits at 0-1-2 in conference after a hard-fought match with the Jaguars of the University of Houston-Victoria. The Women's record is now 5-1-3 overall.
How it Happened
The match was a battle from the start. Both teams came out ready to fight and before any shots were taken each team had committed at least 2 fouls. Dawniella Torres opened the gates for shooting in the 21st minute for the Pilots. The Jaguars would answer five minutes later with a shot to match. The first half having been fairly uneventful ended with the Pilots having three shots, one corner, and five fouls while the Jaguars had one shot, one corner, and two fouls.
Entering the second half the Pilots pressured the Jaguars more. Felicity McNeil began shooting for the Pilots just a minute into the second half followed by shots from Chelsea Brown and Ameris Taylor. The Pilots continued to take on the Jaguars forcing Jolanda Bolt, the UHV keeper, to make saves. Even with the persistent shooting and attack the Pilots were unable to find the back of the net. The Pilots took 7 shots and 4 corners in the second half leaving the Jaguars with only two shots and a singular corner.
The Women's soccer team kicks off Saturday October 1st against the Huston Tillotson Rams at 1:00pm CT from Austin, Texas. They will be back in Shreveport Thursday October 6th to take on long time rivals the Generals of LSUA.
