LSUS Women’s Basketball Announces 2025 Schedule

SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSU Shreveport women's basketball team has announced its 2025 schedule as the Pilots prepare to build on a successful 27-3 campaign last season. LSUS captured both the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Regular Season and Tournament Championships for the second year in a row and advanced to the NAIA Women's Basketball Tournament as the No. 25 team in the nation and a No. 5 seed. The Pilots' season came to a close in Hastings, Nebraska, with a 64-56 loss to Huntington College (Ind.) in the opening round.

The Pilots return three starters from last year's roster—Selma Markisic, Paula Gonzalez Herrero, and Alyssa Christophe—and welcome the addition of Sirena "Peanut" Tuitele to the coaching staff. Tuitele brings valuable experience and will focus on player development as LSUS continues to strengthen its program.

"We are excited to get this season started! We have 12 new players on the roster that each bring something unique to the team and culture. We have had a good fall so far and I believe this team will once again be prepared to battle for a conference title," said LSUS Head Coach Tim Hays.

The season tips off on Oct. 26 when the Pilots host Texas Wesleyan at The Dock. LSUS will then travel to Wiley College on Oct. 29 before heading into a challenging November slate, highlighted by back-to-back road contests against Southern University at New Orleans and nationally ranked Loyola. The team will also make a trip to the College of the Ozarks for the C of O Lady Cat Classic, facing the host Bobcats and Mid-America Christian. The Pilots will close November at home with their first conference matchup against Texas A&M–Texarkana on Nov. 20.

Conference play continues in December, beginning with home games against Texas College (Dec. 4) and Jarvis Christian (Dec. 6). LSUS will then travel to LSU Alexandria (Dec. 11) and Louisiana Christian (Dec. 13) before closing the semester with home games against Southwest on Dec. 18 and UNT Dallas on Dec. 20.

The Pilots open the new year with three straight road games at Texas A&M–Texarkana (Jan. 3), Xavier of Louisiana (Jan. 8), and North American (Jan. 10). A homestand follows with matchups against Our Lady of the Lake on Jan. 15 and Texas A&M–San Antonio on Jan. 17. The month concludes with four consecutive conference contests, including home games against Louisiana Christian (Jan. 29) and LSU Alexandria (Jan. 31).

February will be a critical stretch as LSUS positions itself for postseason play. The Pilots will travel to UNT Dallas (Feb. 5), Southwest (Feb. 7), Texas A&M–San Antonio (Feb. 19), and Our Lady of the Lake (Feb. 21), while also hosting North American (Feb. 12) and Xavier (Feb. 14) at The Dock.

With a mix of returning leadership, new talent, and a challenging slate, the 2025 LSUS women's basketball team looks forward to building on last season's success and competing for another RRAC title.
