LSU Shreveport Women’s Basketball Welcomes Sirena “Peanut” Tuitele as Assistant Coach

SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Shreveport Head Women's Basketball Coach Tim Hays has announced the addition of Sirena "Peanut" Tuitele as the program's new assistant coach. Tuitele officially joined the Pilots' staff on September 15, 2025.

A native of Chico, Calif., Tuitele brings an accomplished playing career at the collegiate and professional levels along with emerging experience in coaching development.

Tuitele was a standout student-athlete at the University of Colorado (2019–2022) and the University of California (2022–2023). While at Colorado, she was named to the 2018-19 Pac-12 All-Freshman Team (honorable mention) and later earned WNIT All-Memphis Region honors in 2021.

Following her collegiate career, she went on to play professionally overseas with Vimpelin Veto of Finland's Korisliiga, Joondalup Wolves of Australia's NBL1, and Fustecma Nou Basquet Castello of Spain's LF Challenge.

A graduate of Pleasant Valley High School (Calif.), Tuitele also invested in her future in coaching through the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's "So You Want to be a Coach" program. The initiative provides professional development, networking, and career advancement opportunities for female basketball players aspiring to enter the coaching profession.

Hays expressed his excitement about Tuitele's addition to the staff:

"I've been following PNut since her freshman year at the University of Colorado. She truly has the characteristics that we want to build our culture around. She is gritty, unselfish, hard working and a great communicator. Her ability to lead as an elite player will directly carry over to her role in the coaching profession. She will be a huge asset to our program!"

Tuitele's arrival strengthens the Pilots' staff with fresh playing experience, a proven track record of leadership, and a commitment to helping the next generation of student-athletes grow both on and off the court.
