LSUS Assistant Coach Mi’Cole Cayton Named to WBCA Thirty Under 30 List

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced today that LSUS assistant women's basketball coach Mi'Cole Cayton has been named a recipient of the 2025 WBCA Thirty Under 30 award, presented by Morgan Stanley Global Sports and Entertainment. This prestigious honor recognizes 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches aged 30 and under who have demonstrated excellence in mentorship, community service, leadership, and professional involvement.
Cayton, in her first year coaching at LSUS, brings a wealth of experience as an eight-year collegiate athlete, earning four degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Nebraska, the University of Minnesota, and Pepperdine University. Beyond her coaching responsibilities, she plays a pivotal role in shaping LSUS Athletics, assisting with administrative duties under the athletic director, managing social media initiatives, and contributing to the future vision of Pilots Athletics.
In addition to her work at LSUS, Cayton dedicates her time to education as a substitute teacher, demonstrating her deep commitment to student development. "There's nothing that matters more to me than serving students and finding ways to inspire each and every one, giving them an outlet and opportunity through education," said Cayton. "I'm honored to receive this recognition during my first year of coaching. It reflects my passion, dedication, and drive—not only on the court but in fostering and cultivating a healthy and loving community for our students and staff."
The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was established to celebrate young leaders in the profession who are making a significant impact in their communities and the sport of women's basketball.
