LSUS Dominates on Senior Day, Clinches Share of RRAC Regular Season Title

SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSUS Pilots put on a dominant display as they cruised to a commanding 100-31 victory over Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) on Senior Day. With the win, the Pilots secured at least a share of the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Regular Season Championship, extending their winning streak to 18 games and improving to 23-3 overall and 22-1 in conference play.

LSUS wasted no time setting the tone, utilizing relentless defensive pressure and efficient shooting to build an insurmountable lead early. The Pilots shot an impressive 55.1 percent from the field, 40.7 percent from beyond the arc, and a perfect 100 percent from the free throw line.

Selma Markisic led the charge with an all-around performance, tallying 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Helena Galunic added 15 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals, while Erynn Williams and Alexis Brown each contributed 12 points. Brown also recorded three assists, three steals, and two rebounds, while Williams grabbed three boards, and set the single season steal record at 78 with three swipes.

Defensively, the Pilots stifled OLLU, holding the visitors to just 26.7 percent shooting from the field and 29.4 percent from three-point range. Julia Plata led OLLU with nine points and one assist, while Carlea Owens finished with eight points, nine rebounds, and two steals.

With one game remaining in the regular season, LSUS will look to close out conference play on a high note when they face LSU Alexandria on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
