Williams Named RRAC Defensive Player of the Week

SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Shreveport senior guard Erynn Williams has been named the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Defensive Player of the Week for February 3-9 after an outstanding defensive performance that helped lead the Pilots to a perfect 2-0 record.
Williams, a Saginaw, Mich., native, showcased her defensive prowess with 10 steals across two games, solidifying LSUS' dominance on that end of the court. She recorded a staggering eight steals in the Pilots' 73-42 victory over North American University (Texas), where she also contributed 21 points. She added two more steals in a defensive showdown against Huston-Tillotson University (Texas), helping LSUS limit the Rams to just 48 points in a 67-48 win.
Currently ranking second in the RRAC with 3.2 steals per game, Williams has been a key force in the Pilots' defensive efforts all season. With their latest wins, LSUS (21-3) remains tied for first place in the conference at 20-1 in RRAC play as they continue their push for a championship run.
