LSUS Rolls Past LSUA with 76-60 Road Win

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The LSUS women's basketball team showcased their offensive firepower and defensive intensity on Saturday afternoon, earning a commanding 76-60 victory over Louisiana State University-Alexandria (LSUA). With the win, the Pilots improve to 12-3 overall and an impressive 11-1 in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC).

The Pilots delivered a strong shooting performance, connecting on 46.8 percent of their shots from the field, including 35.3 percent from beyond the arc, and converting 70.6 percent of their free throws. LSUA fought hard but couldn't match LSUS's efficiency, shooting 35.8 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from three-point range, and 77.8 percent from the free throw line.

Helena Galunic led the way for the Pilots with a game-high 18 points, adding five rebounds and three assists. Paula Gonzalez Herrero chipped in 17 points, while Selma Markisic had a well-rounded performance with 10 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Racheal Emmanuel added 10 points and three rebounds, and Alexis Brown made a defensive impact with three steals.

LSUA's effort was led by Amari Gray and Jewel Jones, who each scored 13 points. Jones also recorded three assists and two rebounds, while Dannah Martin-Hartwick delivered 12 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Despite the contributions, the Generals struggled to keep pace with LSUS's balanced attack.

LSUS returns home to The Dock on Tuesday, Jan. 27, to face Jarvis Christian College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
