Women's Basketball Has Season Ended in Salina by Mayville

Salina, Kansas-- The LSU Shreveport Pilots faced a tough defeat against the Mayville Comets, falling 86-65 in the Second Round of the NAIA National Tournament; ending the Pilots historic season. With the loss, the Pilots end their season with an overall record of 30-3.

The Comets seized control early, dominating the first quarter with a 27-20 lead, setting the tone for the game. Despite efforts to rally, the Pilots struggled to keep pace, trailing by 10 at halftime. The deficit persisted throughout the game as the Pilots failed to find their rhythm, succumbing to the Comets' relentless offense. Shooting 26-71 from the field, the Pilots faced an uphill battle, managing just six made three-pointers and 7-13 from the free-throw line.

Destanee Roblow led the scoring effort for the Pilots with 17 points, supported by Derrica Gilbert's 12 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Comets' strong performance.

The Pilots season comes to an end having broken many records including breaking the season scoring record ending their season having scored 2,647 points and setting a new historic streak of 28 straight wins.
