Women's Basketball Uses 40-Point Lead to Advance to RRAC Semifinals

Alexandria, Louisiana— In a dominating display of skill and teamwork, the Pilots of LSU Shreveport soared to a commanding 90-47 victory over the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian in the RRAC Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. With the win the Pilots move to an overall record of 27-2 and have secured a spot in the RRAC Conference Semifinals.

From the opening tip-off, the Pilots asserted their dominance on both ends of the court, setting the stage for a one-sided affair that showcased their prowess and determination.

The Pilots wasted no time in taking control of the game, jumping out to an early lead with a strong performance in the first quarter. Despite facing stiff competition from the Wildcats, the Pilots managed to build a 17-11 advantage by the end of the quarter. With a balanced scoring effort and solid defensive play, they set the tone for the rest of the game.

In the second quarter, the Pilots continued to build on their momentum, adding another 18 points to their tally to take a commanding 35-21 lead into halftime. With precise execution on offense and stifling defense, they maintained their double-digit lead and refused to let up as they headed into the second half.

The Pilots showcased their offensive firepower in the third quarter, erupting for 29 points to extend their lead even further. Led by sharpshooting from beyond the arc and efficient scoring from the field, they overwhelmed the Wildcats and left no doubt about the outcome of the game. As the final quarter unfolded, the Pilots continued to pour it on, adding another 26 points to seal the victory in emphatic fashion.

Four Pilots scored in double digits, highlighting the team's depth and versatility on offense. Leading the scoring charge was Alexis Brown, who poured in 16 points on an impressive 6-of-11 shooting from the field, including three three-pointers. Brown also made her presence felt on the defensive end, tallying four rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Following closely behind was Destanee Roblow, who contributed 15 points and seven rebounds, while Tanaisha Hairston added 13 points, including three three-pointers. Tyquanna Ross rounded out the scoring with a double-double, recording 10 points and 10 rebounds to anchor the Pilots' efforts in the paint.

With this dominant performance, the Pilots of LSU Shreveport showcased their championship pedigree and demonstrated why they are a force to be reckoned with in the RRAC Conference Tournament. As they look ahead to the finals, they will undoubtedly draw confidence from this victory as they continue their quest for postseason success.

With the win the Pilots will face the Mustangs of Southwest in the RRAC Semifinals. Tip-off is set for 3:00pm CT from the Rapides Coliseum in Alexandria, Louisiana.
