Ross Named RRAC Defensive Player of the Year as Five Pilots Are Named in All Conference Awards

Waco, Texas— As postseason begins to open the RRAC released the Women's All Conference Selections for basketball with the Pilots securing many positions including Tyquanna Ross named as the RRAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Ross came out as a force to be reckoned with in the Red River. On the season Ross has recorded 111 rebounds with 36 assists, 47 steals, and 14 blocks. She proved to be a menace to opponents on the court reading play well and getting a hand in to slow down her opponents. She was also named to the RRAC Second Team All-Conference.

Destanee Roblow was the lone Pilot named to the RRAC First Team, repeating for the second year in a row. Roblow was 106-210 from the field in conference play and went 64-92 from the courtesy stripe. She had 169 total rebounds with 24 steals and 16 blocks.

The Pilots had two on the Honorable Mention list in the form of Alexis Brown and Derrica Gilbert. Brown had an impact on the ball in the form of setting up play structure and getting the ball in. She is 57-132 from the field with 17 three-pointers and 25-35 at the courtesy stripe. She has 105 assists in the conference season totaling 130 on the season. Gilbert acts as a Pilot long range shooter dropping deep threes to excite the crowd and lift the Pilots' spirit. Gilbert was 72-174 from the field with 38 made three-pointers.

Tiarra Tillison was the final Pilot to be named to an RRAC Team as she was designated as the Pilot Representative on the RRAC Champions of Character Team.

The Pilots will both be opening the Quarter Finals on Friday March 1^st. Tip-off is set for the Women at 1:15pm from Rapides Coliseum in Alexandria, Louisiana.
