Women's Basketball Racks Up 10th Straight Conference Win

Shreveport, Louisiana— In a commanding performance, the Pilots women's basketball team secured a resounding victory over the Stallions of North American with a final score of 97-64. With the win the Pilots move to an overall record of 14-2 and a conference record of 10-0.

 

The Pilots set the tone early, outscoring the Stallions 30-9 in the first quarter, showcasing precision with a 12-23 field goal record, including four three-pointers and two successful free throws. Despite a closer second quarter, the Pilots maintained their lead, heading into halftime with a score of 51-26. Destanee Roblow had already notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds by the half. 

 

The Stallions picked up momentum after the break ending the third quarter with each team scoring 23 points in the third quarter. But the Pilots continued their dominance, ultimately securing the win with a final quarter score of 23-15. 

 

Four Pilots reached double-digit scores, led by Roblow with 18 points, 19 field goals, and 14 rebounds. Derrica Gilbert showcased sharpshooting with 14 points, including four three-pointers. Sharayah Johnson contributed 12 points, five field goals, two free throws, seven rebounds, one steal, and one block. Kenyal Perry secured a double-double with eleven points and ten rebounds, sealing the Pilots' impressive triumph.

 

The Pilots will be back to action Thursday January 25th as they head down the road to Alexandria to face rival LSU Alexandria. Tip-off is set for 5:30pm CT from Alexandria, Louisiana.
