Women's Basketball Sit Bulldogs Down with 60-Point Victory

Shreveport, Louisiana— In a dominating performance, the LSU Shreveport Pilots Women's Basketball team soared to victory against the Jarvis Christian Bulldogs with a resounding 99-39 win. With the win the Pilots move to an overall record of 11-2 and an RRAC record of 7-0.
The Pilots took control early in the game and maintained their momentum throughout, showcasing their prowess on both ends of the court. The first quarter set the tone for the Pilots' dominance as they established an 18-9 lead. Shooting 7-for-17 from the field, including a three-pointer, and converting 3-of-4 free throws, the Pilots demonstrated efficiency and accuracy in their offensive efforts.
The second quarter witnessed an impressive offensive display by the Pilots, amassing an additional 31 points. By halftime, they had built a commanding 49-23 lead over the Bulldogs. The Pilots outshot their opponents 10-for-18 from the field, highlighting their scoring efficiency.
Entering the third quarter with determination, the Pilots tightened their defense, holding the Bulldogs to just two points. Meanwhile, the Pilots continued their offensive onslaught, adding 32 more points to their tally. The final quarter saw the Pilots maintaining control, securing an 18-point quarter and sealing the game with a comprehensive 60-point victory. The Pilots finished the game with a remarkable 36-71 shooting from the field, including eight three-pointers, and an impressive 19-of-23 from the free-throw line.
Noteworthy performances came from multiple Pilots players, with five of them scoring in double digits. Destanee Roblow and Derrica Gilbert led the scoring with 14 points each. Roblow, shooting 6-for-12 from the field, showcased her all-around game with nine rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block. Gilbert's impressive shooting included four three-pointers, contributing significantly to the Pilots' offensive firepower.
Erynn Williams added 13 points, including two three-pointers, along with eight rebounds and four steals. Tahjea Smith recorded a double-double with 14 rebounds and 12 points, while Skyler Christmas rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.
The Pilots will be back in action Saturday January 13th as they take on the Steers of Texas College. Tip-off is set for 2:00pm CT from The Dock in Shreveport, Louisiana.
