Women's Basketball Uses Momentum To Vanquish the Bleu Devils

Shreveport, Louisiana— In a highly contested basketball matchup, the LSU Shreveport Pilots soared to a commanding 63-31 victory over the Dillard Bleu Devils. With the win the Lady Pilots improve to an overall record of 2-1.

The first quarter saw both teams battling it out, with each side managing to accumulate ten points. It was a struggle to find the bucket for both squads, with the Pilots shooting at a 35.7% clip from the field, just slightly trailing Dillard's 36.4%. As the game progressed, the Pilots found their rhythm in the second quarter. They erupted for 19 points while clamping down on the Bleu Devils, holding them to a mere five. The Pilots connected on three three-pointers and four field goals during this period, resulting in a 29-15 lead at halftime.

The Pilots continued their dominant performance in the third quarter, adding 13 more points to their tally, while restricting the Bleu Devils to just 8 points. In the final quarter, the Pilots decided to turn up the heat, racking up another 21 points and once again limiting the Bleu Devils to 8 points.

The Pilots were efficient from the field, going 24-54, and they drained five three-pointers, in addition to converting 10 free throws. They also displayed their prowess on the boards, securing 37 rebounds, and their defensive tenacity was evident with seven steals.

Two Pilots players reached double digits in scoring. Tiarra Tillison and Alexis Brown both contributed 10 points to the team's victory. Tillison shot 5-9 from the field, along with one rebound and two assists. Meanwhile, Brown was 3-4 from the field and an impressive 4-5 from the free-throw line. She also made significant contributions in other facets of the game, amassing three rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

With a solid team effort and key performances from Tillison and Brown, the LSU Shreveport Pilots showcased their basketball skills and secured a convincing win over the Dillard Bleu Devils, with a final score of 63-31.

The Pilots will be back in action November 16th as they travel to Rust College for a Thursday Night Matchup. Tip-off is set for 5:30pm from Holly Springs, Mississippi.
