Pilots Sweep Ladies Off Their Feet With 40 Point Victory
Shreveport, Louisiana—In a dominant display of basketball prowess, the LSU Shreveport women's basketball team cruised to an impressive 88-48 victory over the Centenary College Ladies. With the win, the Pilots move to an overall record of 1-1.
The Pilots left no room for doubt, securing an early lead in the first quarter with 25 points while holding the Ladies to just 14. The Pilots exhibited remarkable accuracy, shooting 62.5% from the field, while the Ladies struggled at 33.3%.
The Pilots continued to assert their dominance in the second quarter, adding another 20 points to their tally while limiting the Ladies to just 11. With a 45-25 lead at halftime, the Pilots showcased their efficiency, shooting 9-16 from the field, including one three-pointer, and converting an extra point.
After the halftime break, the Pilots showed no mercy, outscoring the Ladies with 24 and 19 points in the third and fourth quarters, respectively. The defensive prowess of the Pilots held the Ladies to under 15 points in each quarter, resulting in a final score of 88-48 in favor of the Pilots.
Notably, five Pilots players achieved double-digit scores. Destanee Roblow, Tahjea Smith, and Skyler Christmas all contributed 10 points each, while Tanashia Hairston netted 11 points. Tyquanna Ross led the way with an impressive 12 points.
The Pilots' accuracy was evident as they went 36-65 from the field, made three three-pointers, and converted 13 of 17 free throws. This resounding victory showcased the LSU Shreveport women's basketball team's skill, teamwork, and dominance on the court.
The Pilots will be back in action Saturday November 4th as the take on the Bleu Devils of Dillard. Tip-off is set for 4:00pm from The Dock in Shreveport, Louisiana.
