Bio
Kay, a Bristol, England native, comes to Shreveport via Davis and Elkins where he served as the Associate Head Men's Soccer coach having helped guide the Senators to a #1 national ranking during the season in-which they finished with a 16-3-1 record and a national tournament appearance that resulted in a third round loss to the eventual National Champion. Kay's career has come full circle, as he began as an NAIA student-athlete when he joinedSouthwestern Christian University in 2010, collecting three All-Conference nods and three All-NCCAA in his four years of playing. He graduated from SCU with a B.S. in Health, Physical Education, and Sports Management before receiving his MBA from Mid America Christian University. While at MACU Kay served as an assistant coach helping with player development and helped lift them to a Sooner Athletic Conference Championship title in 2018. Kay then returned to SCU in 2019 as an assistant coach before taking over at the helm following that season. That year he lead the Eagles to a 11-2-4 record and to their first ever Sooner Athletic Conference title, while also being named as the SAC Coach of the Year.
Kay has proven his ability to lead as a coach as he has pursued opportunities at all levels. He was a coach with the Des Moines Menace in the USL2 where they won the Deep North Division as well as worked with the Oklahoma City 1889 FC in the NPSL, winning the conference championship and as well as the regional championship. Kay also has experience at the high school level where he helped guide Bishop McGuiness to a 5A state finals appearance and Putnam City to a 6A state semi-finals appearance.
