Men's Soccer Remains Unbeaten, 1-0 Victory Over XULA

SHREVEPORT, La. — The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) men's soccer team secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA) on Thursday afternoon. The Pilots relied on late-game heroics to seal the win, pushing their undefeated Red River Athletic Conference record to an impressive 5-0 and improving to 6-2-2 overall.

The breakthrough for LSUS came in the 86th minute when David Dancetovic found the back of the net, assisted by a brilliant setup from Jack Thomas. The Pilots' persistent pressure throughout the match finally paid off as they broke through the Gold Rush defense in the closing stages.

In goal for LSUS, Kyle McIeish had a solid outing, registering a crucial save to maintain the clean sheet. XULA's Artur Rubin managed to create the Gold Rush's only shot of the match, but McIeish was up to the task. XULA's goalkeeper, Bruno Zanolla, worked hard to keep the Pilots at bay, recording three saves during the contest.

With this win, the Pilots will look to continue their strong run on Saturday, October 5, when they take on North American University at The Swamp. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
