#24 LSUS Pilots Secure 3-1 Victory Over Texas Wesleyan Rams

Shreveport, Louisiana — The #24-ranked LSUS Pilots men's soccer team clinched a decisive 3-1 victory over the Texas Wesleyan Rams in an exciting home match at The Swamp. This win marked a significant boost for the Pilots, improving their overall record to 1-1-2 for the season.

The game started with a flurry of action, as both teams battled for control. Despite a series of fouls and a few close chances, neither side could break the deadlock in the early minutes. The Pilots' breakthrough came in the 35th minute when Kodai Tanaka, assisted by Alex Golder and Joel Trub, scored the opening goal. The Pilots extended their lead shortly after with a goal from Caleb Marchany, set up by Liam Vivian, making it 2-0.

Texas Wesleyan managed to get one back with a penalty kick converted by Mathis Guffroy in the 52nd minute, bringing the score to 2-1. However, the Pilots quickly restored their two-goal advantage with a strike from Joel Trub in the 55th minute, assisted by Felix Mesquita.

The Rams continued to push forward, creating several opportunities, but the Pilots' defense, anchored by goalkeeper Pieri Mack, remained steadfast. Mack made crucial saves throughout the match.

The Pilots' victory was marked by disciplined play and strategic substitutions, which allowed them to maintain their lead and control the tempo of the game. Key contributions from players like Tanaka, Marchany, and Trub highlighted the team's depth and versatility.

The Pilots will return to action on September 10th at 2pm against Williams Baptist at the Swamp.
