Men's Soccer Drops First Game to #10 Mobile

MOBILE, AL – The LSUS Pilots faced a challenging test on the road as they fell to the #10 ranked Mobile Rams with a final score of 0-2 in a competitive matchup held at the Rams' home field. LSUS has played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country so far, and the result today is the first loss for the Pilots this season moving their record to 0-1-2.

The game started with both teams showing strong defenses, but the Rams' pressure resulted in the first goal of the game for the home team. In the 30th minute, Mobile was able to capitalize on a corner kick putting the Rams ahead 1-0. The Pilots made multiple substitutions in response, including the introduction of Guillermo Ferreiro and Liam Vivian, but were unable to break through Mobile's defense.

In the second half, the Pilots were dealt another blow when Mobile converted a penalty kick in the 54th minute, extending the lead to 2-0. Despite the Pilots' efforts to mount a comeback, including shots from Joel Trub and Jack Thomas, they could not find the back of the net.

The game was characterized by aggressive play from both sides resulting in six yellow cards for the Pilots and two for the Rams. 46 fouls were called between the two teams.

Goalkeeper Kyle Mcleish made several key saves to keep the Pilots in the game, but the offensive efforts fell short against the Rams' defense.

The Pilots will look to regroup as they prepare for their next match at home against Texas Wesleyan on September 7th.
