Pilots Soccer Sends Bulldogs Packing with 2-0 Victory in the Semifinal

Texarkana, Texas—In a rain-soaked battle on a Thursday night in Texarkana, the LSU Shreveport Pilots secured a decisive 2-0 victory against the Jarvis Christian Bulldogs. With the win the Pilots bring their overall record to 15-4-1 and advance to the RRAC Finals.

The first half proved to be a hard-fought contest, with neither team able to gain the upper hand. The wet and slippery field added an extra layer of challenge, keeping the ball in the midfield as both teams battled fiercely for possession. The Pilots, however, outshot the Bulldogs 3 to 1 in the opening half.

Determined to break the deadlock, the Pilots entered the second half with renewed vigor. In the 75th minute, Joe Waters found himself in a prime position in the 6-yard box and calmly finished, putting the Pilots ahead. Shortly after, Jack Thomas extended the lead with a well-executed free kick that proved too much for the Bulldogs' goalkeeper to handle.

The Pilots dominated the Bulldogs in the second half, taking five shots and denying any opportunities for their opponents. The defensive prowess and clinical finishing displayed by the Pilots secured a 2-0 victory in challenging weather conditions.

With this hard-earned victory, the Pilots secured their place in the RRAC conference championship final, showcasing resilience, teamwork, and skill on the soccer field. They will face the Wildcats of rival Louisiana Christian Saturday November 10th at 3:30pm. Kickoff is set from Judy Morgan Field in Texarkana, Texas.
