Pilots Sweep Last of Conference Weekly Awards
Waco, Texas—The RRAC announced Monday morning their final set of regular season conference weekly awards and the Pilots took the sweep. Bernardo Pacheco and Jake Strachan were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for October 23-29th in the 10th set of the awards.
Pacheco had a good week for the Pilots as he netted two goals including the game winner Saturday afternoon that decided the fate of their regular season champion title. He played a pivotal role in the Pilots' 1-0 victory over the Generals of LSU Alexandria and had a goal against the Steers of Texas College.
Strachan anchored the Pilot defense as the Pilots sailed to a 3-0 week. The Carnoustie, Scotland native celebrated his senior day Saturday as a conference regular season champion for the second season in a row and netting a goal in a 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs of Jarvis Christian. The senior helped the Pilots maintain two clean sheets in the week blanking both the Generals and the Steers.
Pacheco, Strachan, and the Pilots finished number one in the RRAC standings collecting the number one seed for the RRAC conference tournament. They will host the first round of the tournament as they face off with the Eagles of Texas A&M Texarkana Friday November 3rd. Kick off is set for 2:30p.m. CT from The Swamp in Shreveport.
