Pilots Find Victory in Rivalry Clash with LSU Alexandria

Shreveport, Louisiana—In a fiercely contested soccer match, the LSU Shreveport Pilots narrowly defeated the LSU Alexandria Generals, with a final score of 1-0. With the win the Pilots move to an overall record of 11-4-2 and a conference record of 8-2.

Right from the start, both teams engaged in an intense battle for possession, making it an exciting first half. However, the Generals found themselves at a significant disadvantage with two early red cards, reducing them to just nine players. Despite this, the Pilots were unable to break through in the first half, outshooting the Generals 7 to 0 but failing to find the back of the net.

The second half continued in a similar fashion, with the Pilots relentlessly attacking the Generals' goal. It wasn't until a well-placed cross from Pablo Fuentes, fired off by Bernardo Pacheco, found its way to the foot of Alex Gold, who slotted the ball into the net, putting the Pilots ahead 1-0. The Generals adopted a defensive strategy, parking the bus to protect their goal as the Pilots pressed forward.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, the Generals put up a resilient defense, but the Pilots continued to outshoot them 8 to 2 in the second half. In the end, the Pilots managed to secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Generals in a game that showcased their determination and perseverance.

The Pilots will be back in action Thursday October 26th as they take on the Steers of Texas College. Kick off is set for 3:30pm CT from The Swamp in Shreveport, Louisiana.
