Men's Soccer Reins in the Mustangs, 3-0

Hobbs, New Mexico—In a commanding performance, the Pilot Men's soccer team secured a decisive victory over the Mustangs of the University of the Southwest with a final score of 3-0. With the win the Pilots move to a conference record of 6-2 and an overall record 8-4-1.

The first half was characterized by a goalless deadlock, with the Pilots being slightly outshot by the Mustangs, 1-2. The tension in the game was palpable as both teams vied for an advantage.

However, the Pilots emerged from the halftime break with a renewed sense of determination. Just over three minutes into the second half, Jack Thomas broke the scoreless streak by finding the back of the net, putting the Pilots ahead 1-0.

Despite the Mustangs' efforts to resist, the Pilots continued their relentless attack. In the 78th minute, Bernardo Pacheco added another goal for the Pilots, extending their lead to 2-0.

As the clock was winding down, the Pilots sealed their victory with a final goal in the 88th minute, courtesy of David Vejsmose. This last-minute strike left the Mustangs with no room for a comeback.

The second half belonged entirely to the Pilots, as they outshot the Mustangs 7-1, ultimately claiming the 3-0 win. It was a remarkable display of skill and determination from the Pilots, and this victory will surely boost their confidence as they move forward in the season.

The Pilots will be back in action Saturday October 14th as they take on the Tigers of Paul Quinn. Kick off is set for 3:30pm CT from Dallas, Texas.
