Houston, Texas— Saturday afternoon the Pilots Men's soccer team delivered a stunning 6-0 victory over the Mustangs of North American University. With the win the Pilots move to an overall record of 6-4-1 and a conference record of 4-2.
For the first 35 minutes of the match, both teams battled fiercely, and the score remained deadlocked. However, it was the Pilots who were relentlessly pushing towards the Mustangs' goal. In the 35th minute, David Dancetovic finally broke the deadlock, opening the scoring for the Pilots and giving them a well-deserved 1-0 lead. Throughout the first half, the Pilots showcased their attacking prowess, outshooting the Mustangs 7-2, demonstrating their determination to seize control of the game.
As the second half kicked off, the Pilots wasted no time in asserting their dominance. Just two minutes into the half, Alex Golder added a second goal for the Pilots, thanks to a brilliant setup from Bernardo Pacheco and Adam Gonzalez, extending their lead to 2-0.
The Pilots continued to pour on the pressure, and in the 60th minute, Jack Thomas added another goal to their tally, solidifying their control of the match. As if that wasn't enough, Alex Charles put on a scoring clinic, netting two goals in quick succession in the 75th and 78th minutes, further widening the gap between the Pilots and the Mustangs.
With the scoreline at 5-0, the Pilots weren't finished yet. Kevin Sithole delivered the final blow with a goal in the 88th minute, leaving no doubt about the outcome of the match. In the second half, the Pilots continued to dominate, outshooting the Mustangs 11-0, leaving the Mustangs with no answers to the relentless offensive onslaught.
The Pilots will be back in action Thursday October 5th as they take on conference rival LSU Alexandria. Kickoff is set for 3:30pm CT from The Swamp in Shreveport, Louisiana.
