Blankenship to Lead NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches Association Executive Committee

Shreveport, La. – LSU Shreveport head men's basketball coach Kyle Blankenship has been elected as the President of the 2025-26 NAIA-NABC Men's Basketball Coaches Association Executive Committee. Blankenship, who has been a member of the committee since 2022, previously served as First Vice President during the 2024-25 season. He assumes the presidency following the term of Briar Cliff University Head Coach Mark Svagera.

In addition to his new leadership role, Blankenship continues to serve the sport nationally as a member of the NAIA National Tournament Selection Committee, the NAIA All-America Selection Committee, and as the ARC Chair for the Southwest ARC.

"I am extremely honored and excited to continue serving our NAIA coaching body in a leadership position once again this season," Blankenship said. "Our committee is made up of a group of outstanding coaches and individuals who collectively work together to ensure that our game continues to evolve and grow both on and off the floor."

Last season, Blankenship guided the Pilots to an 18-12 overall record and a 15-9 mark in Red River Athletic Conference play. LSUS secured the fifth seed in the RRAC Tournament and earned another trip to the NAIA National Tournament, extending the program's long-standing tradition of postseason success.

The NAIA National Association of Basketball Coaches (NAIA-NABC) is an organization of collegiate basketball coaches whose institutions are in good standing with the NAIA. The association meets annually at the NABC Convention and elects officers who serve one-year terms, providing leadership and guidance for the continued growth of NAIA men's basketball. The NAIA-NABC plays a vital role in shaping recommendations and overseeing the administration of the NAIA men's basketball program, including its national tournaments.

The Pilots will open the 2025-26 season with the "Champions of Character" Game against Wiley College on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2025, at The Dock. Tip-off is scheduled for 11 a.m.
