LSUS Guard Taj Anderson Named NAIA Second Team All-American

SHREVEPORT, La. — LSUS standout guard Taj Anderson has been named a 2024-25 NAIA Second Team All-American following a stellar season in which he dominated the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) and earned multiple accolades.
Anderson, a Queens, New York native, was also named the 2024-25 RRAC Newcomer of the Year after finishing as the conference's second-leading scorer, averaging 20.2 points per game. He shot an impressive 51.9% from the field and 44.7% from beyond the arc while finishing second in the nation with 99 three-pointers made.
A dynamic two-way player, Anderson was recognized as the RRAC Player of the Week three times—twice for his offensive performances and once for his defensive efforts. He contributed across the board, averaging 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.1 steals per game while leading LSUS in steals with 58 on the season.
Anderson delivered two of the most electrifying performances in the NAIA this year, scoring a school-record 53 points against Paul Quinn College on February 1, a feat that earned him NAIA National Player of the Week honors. He also posted a 41-point outing against Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
"We are very proud of taj on his individual accomplishments this season. Nobody in our program worked harder, day in and day out, and he was more than deserving of this honor," said LSUS head coach Kyle Blankenship. "We have a long list of All-Americans with their picture hanging on the wall inside "The Dock", and now Taj's photo will sit up there next to some of the best to ever put on a LSUS uniform."
With his ability to score at all three levels and impact the game defensively, Anderson's recognition as an NAIA Second Team All-American solidifies his place as one of the nation's top collegiate players in the NAIA ranks.
