LSUS Falls to Georgetown in NAIA First Round, 92-78

GEORGETOWN, Ky. — LSUS' season came to an end Friday evening as the Pilots fell to Georgetown College, 92-78, in the first round of the NAIA Men's Basketball Tournament at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.

The Pilots (18-12) struggled to keep pace with the Tigers' efficient shooting, as Georgetown (27-4) shot 60% from the field to advance to the next round.

Tyler Washington led LSUS with 21 points, four steals, three rebounds, and one block. Devonte Austin added 17 points, four rebounds, and two assists, while Tahjae Hill contributed 15 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Taj Anderson finished with 11 points, and Trey Boston had 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

LSUS shot 42.6% from the field, 38.2% from beyond the arc, and 63.6% from the free-throw line.

Georgetown's Andres Burney led all scorers with 24 points, adding seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Darien Lewis scored 15 points and recorded four assists and two steals. Jabrion Spikes had 12 points, seven rebounds, and three assists, while Jacquias Franklin finished with 11 points, seven assists, and two steals. Tae Dozier recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, along with four assists and three steals.

The Tigers shot 60% from the field, 26.7% from three-point range, and 72.7% from the free-throw line.
