LSUS Falls to Texas A&M-Texarkana in RRAC Tournament First Round

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The LSUS Pilots saw their season come to an end in the first round of the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Men's Basketball Tournament, falling to Texas A&M University-Texarkana, 88-67, on Friday morning.

The Pilots struggled to find their rhythm offensively, shooting 40 percent from the field and just 15 percent from beyond the arc. Despite a strong effort on the glass, LSUS couldn't overcome a balanced attack from the Eagles, who capitalized on efficient shooting and aggressive defense.

Davion Coleman led the way for LSUS, posting a near double-double with 15 points, nine rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Tyler Washington added 12 points, four rebounds, and one assist, while Tahjae Hill contributed 11 points, four boards, one assist, and one steal.

TAMUT was powered by a dominant performance from Raymond Moore and Deovaunta Williams, who each poured in 22 points. Moore added six rebounds, two steals, and one assist, while Williams recorded five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. The Eagles also saw double-digit contributions from Doreante Tucker (11 points), Daryl Houston (10 points, seven rebounds), and Payton Chism (10 points, five assists).

The Eagles' efficiency proved to be the difference, shooting 47.2 percent from the field, 32.1 percent from deep, and 78.6 percent from the charity stripe. LSUS converted 74.1 percent of its free throws but couldn't match TAMUT's offensive firepower.
