Pilots Edge Huston-Tillotson, 77-71, Behind Coleman’s Clutch Performance

AUSTIN, Texas — The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) Pilots picked up a hard-fought 77-71 road victory over Huston-Tillotson University on Thursday night, powered by a stellar two-way performance from Davion Coleman.
Coleman stuffed the stat sheet with 21 points, seven steals, and a flawless 11-for-11 showing from the free-throw line, leading the Pilots to their latest triumph. Tahjae Hill added a near double-double with 17 points, nine rebounds, and three steals, while Trey Boston chipped in 10 points to help LSUS secure the win.
The Pilots were efficient from the floor, shooting 50.9 percent overall and 38.5 percent from deep, but struggled slightly at the charity stripe, converting 64.3 percent of their free throws.
Huston-Tillotson kept it competitive behind a strong outing from Charle Hallmon, who posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jayce Wright contributed 11 points, eight boards, three assists, and three steals, while Cade Holzman added 10 points, four rebounds, and three blocks. The Rams shot 46.4 percent from the field but struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 16.7 percent of their three-point attempts.
The Pilots will look to keep their momentum rolling as they return to action on Saturday, Feb. 8, against North American University. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
