Taj Anderson Named RRAC Offensive Player of the Week After Historic 53-Point Performance

SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Shreveport senior guard Taj Anderson has been named the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week, following a record-tying, career-defining performance.
Anderson etched his name into the LSUS history books, matching the school record with a jaw-dropping 53 points in the Pilots' victory over Paul Quinn College (Texas). The Queens, N.Y., native put on an offensive clinic, marking the highest single-game scoring total in the NAIA this season.
The sharpshooting guard was virtually unstoppable, finishing 16-of-21 from the field, 10-of-15 from beyond the arc, and a flawless 11-of-11 from the free throw line. His historic night fueled a stellar week, where he averaged 31.0 points per game and drained 16 three-pointers over a 2-1 stretch for the Pilots.
Anderson has been an offensive force all season, leading the RRAC with 20.2 points per game. His dominance has helped LSUS improve to 11-8 in conference play and 14-9 overall, as the Pilots ready themselves for a Thursday, Feb. 6 matchup with Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
