Pilots Hold Off Paul Quinn College for Road Victory, 69-61

DALLAS, Texas — The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) men's basketball team secured a hard-fought road win Thursday night, defeating Paul Quinn College 69-61. 

Meikkel Murray led the way for LSUS, delivering an impressive performance with 18 points, nine rebounds, and one block. His consistent presence on both ends of the court anchored the Pilots throughout the game. Taj Anderson added 14 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block, providing key contributions in critical moments.

Davion Coleman showcased his all-around skills with 12 points, five rebounds, five assists, and a steal, while Trey Boston chipped in 11 points, three assists, and two steals. Angel Smith made his impact on the boards, hauling in six rebounds to help control the glass.

The Pilots shot 42.6 percent from the field, overcoming a cold night from beyond the arc (23.5 percent) and converting 72.2 percent of their free throws.

Paul Quinn College was paced by Norris Williams, who poured in a game-high 21 points, along with seven rebounds and six assists. John Harrison added nine points, five rebounds, and three blocks, while Julian Spotser and Jeb Tobin each grabbed seven rebounds. Despite their efforts, the Tigers were held to 38.3 percent shooting from the field, 27.8 percent from three-point range, and 62.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pilots capitalized on a strong defensive effort and balanced scoring attack to hold off the Tigers in the second half.

LSUS will return to action on Dec. 7, traveling to Hobbs, N.M., to face the University of the Southwest. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. as the Pilots aim to carry their momentum into another road test.
