Pilots Fall to Wildcats in Heartbreaker at The Dock

SHREVEPORT, La. — In a thrilling showdown on Thursday night, the Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) Pilots came up just short against Louisiana Christian University (LCU), falling 77-76 in front of a lively crowd at The Dock.

The Pilots (2-2) were powered by a standout performance from senior guard Taj Anderson, who filled the stat sheet with 25 points, six assists, six steals, and five rebounds. Anderson's relentless play kept LSUS within striking distance throughout the contest.

Melvion Flanagan added an impressive 18 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals, showcasing his versatility on both ends of the floor. Davion Coleman contributed a solid 14 points, six steals, and five rebounds, further bolstering the Pilots' effort.

LSUS shot 47.5 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 62.5% from the free-throw line, narrowly missing opportunities to secure a victory in the game's final moments.

The Wildcats (3-0) countered with balanced scoring, led by Drew Tabbe, who tallied 16 points and five assists. Devin Carter chipped in with 15 points, while Joseph Holloway added 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. LCU's efficiency at the free-throw line (81%) and their slight edge in three-point shooting (36.5%) proved critical in the one-point win.

The game featured high-intensity defense from both sides, with the Pilots forcing turnovers and recording an impressive 15 steals as a team.

LSUS will look to bounce back on Monday, Dec. 2, when they host Xavier University (La.) at The Dock. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
