LSUS Pilots Fall to TAMUT Eagles, 91-77

TEXARKANA, Texas — The Louisiana State University Shreveport Pilots were defeated by Texas A&M University-Texarkana Eagles in a hard-fought Red River Athletic Conference matchup on Tuesday night, with a final score of 91-77.

Leading the charge for the Pilots was Melvion Flanagan, who finished with a team-high 19 points. Miekkel Murray followed with a strong double-double performance, posting 14 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Tahjae Hill also contributed 14 points to the Pilots' effort. As a team, LSUS shot 43.1 percent from the field, connected on 29.2 percent of their three-point attempts, and hit 64.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Eagles showcased an efficient offensive display, led by Doreante Tucker and Jakari Livingston, who each scored 14 points. Tucker also grabbed eight rebounds, while Deovaunta Williams added 12 points and Jyrin Sowell contributed 11 points. Rodney Mason, II directed the offense with seven assists. TAMUT excelled in their shooting, hitting 50.0 percent from the field, a remarkable 53.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 87.5 percent from the free-throw line.

LSUS will look to bounce back as they head to Hawkins, Texas, to take on Jarvis Christian University on November 16. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
