Pilots Basketball Sails Past the Mustangs

Stafford, Texas—In an electrifying basketball showdown, the Pilots men's basketball team soared to a commanding 102-76 victory over the Mustangs of North American. With the win the Pilots move to 19-7 overall and conference record of 14-6.

Right from the tip-off, the Pilots displayed their offensive prowess, shooting an impressive 22-36 from the field in the first half, including six three-pointers. They also capitalized on their opportunities at the free-throw line, going 8-10, amassing a staggering 58 points by halftime. Meanwhile, their stifling defense held the Mustangs to just 37 points, limiting them to 12-29 shooting from the field and only two made three-pointers.

Maintaining their momentum in the second half, the Pilots continued to dominate, adding 44 more points to their tally while restricting the Mustangs to 39 points. With a final field goal percentage of 38-62, including 11 three-pointers and 13 made free throws, the Pilots left no doubt about their superiority on the court.

The Pilots showcased their balanced scoring attack, with five players reaching double digits. Leading the charge was Calvin Carpenter, who poured in 22 points while shooting 8-13 from the field, including four three-pointers. Melvion Flanagan was hot on his heels with 19 points, knocking down four three-pointers on seven field goals. Josh LeBlanc contributed 17 points, shooting an efficient 6-8 from the field and 5-6 at the free-throw line. Additionally, Paul King and Tyler Washington each added 11 points to help secure the impressive victory for the Pilots.

With stellar performances across the board, the Pilots showcased their depth and skill, leaving their opponents in the dust and celebrating a resounding triumph on the hardwood.

The Pilots will be back in action Thursday February 22nd as they take on the Mustangs of Southwest. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm from The Dock in Shreveport, Louisiana.
