Pilots Fall to Generals in Second Season Matchup

Alexandria, Louisiana—In a hard-fought contest, the Pilots men's basketball team faced a close 103-98 defeat against the LSUA Generals. With the loss the Pilots move to an overall record of 13-4 and a conference record of 8-3. 

Despite a strong effort, shooting 12-30 from the field and 11-13 at the free-throw line, the Pilots couldn't overcome the Generals' 17-29 field goal performance, including five three-pointers and 12-17 from the free-throw line. Entering the break the Pilots found themselves down 38-51 at the half.

The Pilots staged a comeback in the second half, outscoring the Generals 60-52, but it fell short of closing the gap. Four Pilots made significant contributions, with one player scoring 26 points, going 9-15 from the field with four three-pointers and a perfect 4-4 at the free-throw line. Jalen King added 15 points, while Calvin Carpenter and Paul King each finished with 14 points, highlighting a strong team effort despite the final score.

The Pilots will be back in action Saturday January 27th as they take on the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian. Tip-off is set for 4:00pm from Pineville, Louisiana.
