Men's Basketball Claims Victory Over the Stallions

Shreveport, Louisiana— In an impressive showdown, the Pilot men's basketball team secured a convincing victory over the Stallions of North American with a final score of 95-72. With the win the Pilots improve to 13-3 overall and 8-2 in the Red River.

The first half witnessed a competitive battle for the lead, culminating in the Pilots taking a 42-35 advantage. The Pilots went 17-47 from the field, managing two three-pointers and 6-of-10 free throws, while the Stallions posted an 11-29 record with five three-pointers and 8-of-10 successful free throws.

The second half saw the Pilots extending their dominance, adding 53 points while limiting the Stallions to 37. The Pilots displayed efficiency with a 20-36 field goal record, including three three-pointers and 10 made free throws. 

Four Pilots reached double-digit scores, with Tyler Washington leading the charge with 21 points, connecting on nine field goals, including a three-pointer and two free throws. Jalen King, Melvion Flanagan, and Jordan DeCuir contributed 15, 14, and 13 points, respectively. King's 6-for-9 performance from the field, along with seven rebounds, stood out, while Flanagan showcased versatility with a 5-11 record, including one three-pointer and three made free throws, accompanied by five rebounds and two steals. DeCuir's 5-10 record featured three successful three-pointers, highlighting the well-rounded success of the Pilots in this commanding victory.

The Pilots will be back to action Thursday January 25th as they head down the road to Alexandria to face rival LSU Alexandria. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm CT from Alexandria, Louisiana.
